Why should you care if you have a leaky gut? Your intestines have tight junctions that bans the “bad” microbes such as pathogens (a bacterium, virus, or other microorganism that can cause disease) for example, from passing the blood-brain barrier. You do not want pathogens to cross into the blood and be transported towards the bloodstream of the brain because it can cause clinical dysfunction. How Do You Determine If You Have A Leaky Gut?

There is a simple test with GABA, a supplement that produces a calming/relaxing effect. GABA is larger than a small nanoparticle that can and should cross the blood brain barrier in these intestinal junctions. It also does not have a blood-brain barrier transport protein.
