Why do you need folic acid?

Folic acid helps your body produce and maintain new cells, and also helps prevent changes to DNA that may lead to cancer. Most women on birth control are folic acid deficient. If you can not methylate (move methyl groups to get nutrients), you will have a hard time absorbing folic acid.

Foods Rich in Folic Acid:

Broccoli

Brussels Sprouts

Cabbage

Kale

Spinach

Peas

Chickpeas

Kidney beans
